I got given one of my grandfathers old wood vices which had decades of rust and grime on it. I stripped it back and got it ready for use.
I made a second knife but this time properly hardened the steel by oil quenching, then tempered it before putting the handle on.
I broke my main hunting knife right before a hunting trip so went into the shed and tried making my own.
This dinghy has been 90% finished for two years… I really have to finish it this winter.
Leatherman don’t want you taking apart their multi-tools but it’s not hard to make little sockets that can undo their proprietary bolt heads.
